Let Pastor Karen help grow your faith.

The Reverend Karen V. Stanley is our Covenant Pastor.  She received her Master of Divinity and Master of Arts in Christian Education degrees from Union Presbyterian Seminary (formerly Union-PSCE) in Richmond.

She served as Associate Pastor for Christian Education for 13 years at the Williamsburg (VA) Presbyterian Church.  Since retiring in 2013, Karen served as supply pastor in a PCUSA church in Lancaster County, VA.  Prior to her ordination as Minister of Word and Sacrament Karen served as Christian Education Consultant for St. Andrews Presbyterian Church and Director of Christian Education for Campbell Memorial Presbyterian Church, both in Lancaster County, VA.

Karen is a native Virginian who was reared in Arlington, when the Northern Virginia county still had a small-town atmosphere.  She has had the experience of living in three major cities – Richmond, Baltimore and Atlanta – as well as in the town of White Stone, with its population of about 500.  Karen and her husband, Tony, returned to their native state 38 years ago to be with and to care for elderly family members.  Tony established a photography studio in White Stone, and Karen assisted with portrait and wedding photography.  Their home is on the Rappahannock River in White Stone.

Tony and Karen have one daughter, Susan, who lives in Roswell, GA, with her husband, Pat, and their two daughters, Catherine and Elizabeth.  Catherine, an Ole Miss and Georgia State University graduate, is a special education teacher working with deaf and hearing-impaired students.  Elizabeth is a Junior at Wingate College in North Carolina.
